In July, Pinterest quietly launched a new app called Shuffles. The platform is invite only, just like Pinterest was when it launched. This method worked well for Pinterest and will likely help the new app gain interest.

I was able to get access to Shuffles and wanted to share what I have learned so far and give all the information you need to get started and also use the platform to get more traffic to your blog.

What is Shuffles by Pinterest?

Shuffles by Pinterest has some simularities to Pinterest but is a very unique new app. You create collage-style mood boards to share with your friends. It has spent some time as the #1 Lifestyle app on iPhones and is creating a lot of buzz.

You get photos from your device or from Pinterest. Everything you use from Pinterest becomes clickable and links back to the original pin. Because of this creators are able to get traffic from these mood boards.

How to Get a Shuffles by Pinterest Invite Code

Pinterest has said they are slowly inviting people into Shuffles to make sure it everything works correctly. Because of this Shuffles by Pinterest invite codes are hard to come by.

It seems to be random who gets invite codes and how many they get. I got two when I signed up but I’ve seen others with 5 or even more. And it’s unclear if you get any more once you use the first ones.

There are some ways to find Shuffles invite codes though. These are some of the methods you can use to find an invite code.

  1. Twitter- This is the option that worked for me. Just search for “shuffles invite code” and you will find people sharing that they have one. I took me a few tries before I got one.
  2. Facebook-You can also ask in Facebook groups you belong to. I’ve started a new group Shuffles by Pinterest Tips for Creators. This group will be used for people to share tips for this new platform and there is a thread for sharing invite codes.
  3. Tiktok- Like on Twitter you can search for Shuffles invite code and find people sharing their code or allowing people to share in the comments of a video.
  4. Reddit- You can also find invite codes on the Pinterest sub-reddit.

If you can’t find one right away don’t lose hope. If this is anything like Pinterest it will get easier to find the codes as time goes on and Pinterest starts to open the app up to more people.

Why Should Bloggers Use Shuffles by Pinterest?

When Pinterest first started it wasn’t something on every blogger’s radar. There is always some doubt when a new platform starts that it will really take off. Now Pinterest has over 433 million monthly active users.

While it’s too early to know if Shuffles by Pinterest will be the next Tiktok or another failed social media app, there is no reason to not get an account. With all of the success Pinterest has had there are reasons to believe this app has promise.

Getting on a platform early can often make it easier to grow. Even if you only claim your account and throw up a few mood boards it can be worth it for your site. Since Shuffles connects to your Pinterest account there is less work involved than a brand new platform so the ROI could easily end up very high with this app.

Using Shuffles by Pinterest to get Traffic

When you are just getting started it’s good to play around and also read How to Use the New Shuffles App. There are a lot of features and you want to be sure to know what they all are.

Once you have figured out some of the features you want to start making your shuffles. The way in which you make your shuffles is important if you want to use the app to increase blog traffic.

When creating shuffles you can get inspiration from your already pinned pins. You can use the whole graphic or just take elements from it. You can also use one pin or multiple pins and images.

With it being such a new app it’s not clear what will end up working best yet, that’s why it’s a good idea to experiment with different things. Try a few kinds of shuffles and see what gets a response.

The great thing is when people look at your shuffle they will see the pins you used below the image in a section called inspiration. They can then click on those pins and save them on Pinterest or visit the link.

Currently this is the only way to link with shuffles but it’s also a very easy option as you are able to use content you’ve already created.

Don’t forget to use hashtags which seem to be the main way to search for shuffles. You can easily see the most popular by going to the hashtag feed on the app. This can also help you see what is performing well on the app so far.

Collaborate with Other Bloggers

Since you can use more than one pin in a shuffle this can be a really cool way to collaborate with other bloggers. You can each create shuffles using each other’s pins to create really cool images.

One fun idea would be for each blogger to make a different image using the same sets of pins. You would end up with very different images but each be sharing each other’s pins.

Use Shuffles on Other Platforms

You can share the images you create in Shuffles by using the share button. This image can be put on Pinterest, Instagram, Tiktok, where ever you want to use it.

While Shuffles is so new this can be a good way to get more out of your time spent creating shuffles while we find the best ways to use the platform to drive traffic and engagement.

What’s to Come from Shuffles by Pinterest

As the platform is opened to more people we are sure to see a lot more happen with the app. Pinterest has shared very little about plans for the app other than this description.

“Shuffles is the world’s best tool for creative expression, powered by Pinterest’s massive visual library. Shufflers create moodboards and collages to dream big, plan projects, make jokes, and connect with their community. We have curated some fabulous Shuffle below to help you get started on making your own!”

Many are hoping for analytics soon so we can better track how our images are performing and maybe more ways to connect with others.

No matter how it grows and changes it’s a great place to experiment right now and getting in early on a new platform can often be the best way to get fast growth so don’t wait to try it out.
