When working from home while disabled it can be easy to order delivery or grab less healthy options. You are often using most of your energy to work so the last thing you want to do is spend a lot of time and energy on lunch.

A good way to prevent that is to prepare food ahead of time when you have more energy to give to the prep. Having these things ready to go will make lunchtime more enjoyable and easier.

Fueling our bodies well can also often help us manage some of our symptoms making it even more important. So while it’s fine to get delivery from time to time or grab something random, for those days we want to eat well without a lot of effort these work-from-home lunch ideas can help!

Tips for Making Work-From-Home Lunches Easier

  1. Have a meal plan that includes lunches. Having a meal plan can help you know what needs to be prepped ahead of time and cut out all the decision-making when you may be more fatigued.
  2. Keep easy-to-grab food on hand. While these lunch ideas can be made ahead sometimes you won’t get around to the prep so having easy things on hand also helps. This could be cheese and crackers, hummus and veggies, or even things like Lunchables. Of course, healthy options are best but some days you just need to eat something.
  3. Get your groceries delivered. If it’s possible for you to get your groceries delivered that can cut out a lot of the work that is involved in grocery shopping. You can try Instacart for free to see if it’s something that helps you.
  4. Use a meal kit service. You can get a bigger plan than you need and cook a meal for dinner and have the leftovers for lunch. Or if you have more energy during the day, cook up the meal at lunch and have leftovers for dinner. You can get 16 meals free from HelloFresh to see if this tip helps you.

The key is to stop worrying about what other people are doing for lunch and what so-called experts are saying you should do. Find what works for you and your body.
